Experience the fascination of aviation with an impressive model of the SR-71 Blackbird, an iconic supersonic spy plane. The COBI 1:48 scale building set faithfully captures the essence of this historic aircraft in great detail.
The SR-71 Blackbird is one of the most outstanding achievements in aviation history. Developed in the 1960s on behalf of the CIA, it served the Air Force, NASA, and the USAF as a strategic long-range reconnaissance aircraft. With a breathtaking speed of Mach 3.5 and a cruising altitude of 26,000 meters, it was virtually invisible to radar systems of the time. A total of 32 aircraft were built, which were retired by the end of the 1980s. Today, its role is carried out by modern reconnaissance satellites and drones.
The building set consists of 1,424 pieces that faithfully reproduce the characteristic features of the original. The exclusive Executive Edition includes two figures: a USAF pilot and a NASA pilot, both in special suits. The display stand with the Lockheed Martin logo and the removable landing gear make the set a valuable collector's item. Moving parts such as ailerons and an opening cockpit enhance its dynamic appearance.
This set is aimed at collectors and aviation fans who want to build a piece of history. Thanks to clear building instructions, it is also suitable for less experienced builders. The durable prints of the US Air Force markings ensure that the building set retains its appeal. The flames from the engines add extra charm to the model and make it an exceptional display piece.
Building blocks are small, mostly plastic components that are connected to each other by studs and recesses. This allows you to build all kinds of models, from vehicles to buildings. Thanks to their ease of use and the ability to disassemble and reassemble them as often as you like, they are popular with both children and adults.
