With the Milliput Stone Paving Texture Roller, you can impress a continuous, repeating paving pattern into clay and modeling compounds.
Mix your modeling compound or clay according to the respective manufacturer's recommendations and roll it out on the surface to be textured. Ensure a smooth, level surface before impressing; the manufacturer recommends using a smooth texture roller for this purpose. Depending on the compound used, moisten the pattern roller and roll it slowly and evenly over the surface.
Polymer clays such as Fimo or Sculpey can be corrected before hardening in the oven; for textured bases, the manufacturer recommends MDF bases, on which you can impress the clay directly and harden it together with the base. The manufacturer recommends approximately 15 minutes at 150 °C and notes that the MDF wood may produce a possible toast-like smell. Epoxy modeling compounds do not require oven hardening and can be applied directly to plastic bases.
For particularly sticky Green Stuff modeling compound, slightly moisten the compound or the roller with water; alternatively, talcum powder or Sculptor Vaseline can reduce the stickiness. On the other hand, you should not heavily moisten Milliput modeling compound and should continue to knead a mixture that is too sticky until the stickiness subsides. Thoroughly clean the roller after working with epoxy modeling compounds, remove residues with a wire brush and plenty of water if necessary, and ensure that children are closely supervised by a responsible adult during use.
Pro tip: Wait until the excess compound has dried before trimming it with a sharp knife to avoid deformation.
Warning: Not suitable for children under 36 months. Contains small parts that can be swallowed.
