Ruby Red is a high-quality water-based acrylic paint and part of the Vallejo True Metallic Metal system. This paint range uses the structured 4-step system Base–Light–Shade–Airbrush, which allows metallic surfaces to be built up systematically – from the opaque base color to highlights, shadows, and airbrush effects.

Vallejo True Metallic Metal – BASE
The Ruby Red Base variant provides the intense, metallic red base tone of the paint family. Thanks to the finest metallic pigments and an optimized binder, it creates a strong shine with high opacity and an even finish – ideal for energy effects, armor, jewelry, or machine casings.

Application tips:
- No special prior knowledge required – the BLS system quickly explains itself during use.
- Apply several thin coats to achieve even coverage and shine.
- Mixable with Light to create highlights or soft transitions.
- Works on a black, white, or gray primer – the color tone remains brilliant.
- Shake or stir well before use to distribute the pigments evenly.
