What is The Horus Heresy:
The Horus Heresy is a tabletop strategy game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, approximately 10,000 years before the wars of the 41st Millennium. It focuses on the galactic civil war in which the Imperium’s Space Marine legions split into Loyalists and Traitors.
The setting combines grim science fiction with ancient tragedy, imperial hubris, and the downfall of a golden age. Primarchs, legions, war machines, Titans, traitors, fanatical Loyalists, and massive fleet wars define this era of betrayal.
Players lead legions and forces from the 31st Millennium against one another in epic battles. The Horus Heresy is particularly suited to hobbyists who love epic warfare, Space Marine legions, detailed background stories, and the tragic fall of the Imperium.
Background:
Kol is a cursed world in the Signus Cluster whose war remained hidden in the shadow of greater events for a long time. Deep beneath its surface lies a corrupted network of macrocity structures, where cultists, traitors, and creatures of the Warp extended their dominion. The Legio Custodes were dispatched to fight these enemies, following the Emperor’s will even in the darkest depths of the civil war.
Among the warriors who fought on Kol was the disgraced Shield-Captain Medraut. His attack led him deep into the subterranean macrocity network, where fighting intensified in confined spaces and the daemonic powers of Slaanesh threatened the advance of the Imperial warriors.
The battle for Kol pitted the golden warriors of the Legio Custodes against enemies far beyond ordinary traitors. Between corrupted places of worship, subterranean fortresses, and depths haunted by the Warp, a war was fought whose scars stand out even among the countless atrocities of the Horus Heresy.
