Background:
The Cathayan Guardian is a colossal war construct of the Grand Cathay. As a living statue made of jade, stone, or bronze-clad clay, it rests motionless for decades on the borders of the empire – on bridges, at city gates, or on sacred terraces. But when balance is threatened, the Guardian awakens and unleashes its ancient power.

These giants were once created by the will of the Celestial Dragon Emperor. Their bodies are streaked with luminous glyphs, their limbs move with tremendous power yet unexpected precision. Their mere presence strengthens the morale of defenders and makes enemies tremble. At the core of each Guardian rests a fragment of pure harmony – a magical focus that balances Yin and Yang, making it an unshakeable bulwark.

Awakening a Guardian requires the collaboration of alchemists, scholars, and wind-masters. Only when the harmony between heaven and earth is disturbed is a Guardian brought to life. In such times, they march through the land, slowly, imperturbably, and filled with divine power – as a living incarnation of Cathay's determination.
