Voidscarred

Content:
With "Voidscarred", Mike Brooks presents an English-language novel from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, focusing on Baron Myrin Sturmdämmer, the Starshard Corsairs, and an escalating conflict with Ork buccaneers. This edition is the paperback version. (Softcover)

What is Black Library:
As a publisher of narrative works from the Warhammer cosmos, Black Library expands Games Workshop's known universes with a literary perspective. The program includes novels, short stories, and audiobooks set in the worlds of Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, The Horus Heresy, The Old World, and other settings within the Warhammer universe.

The focus is not on game rules or miniatures, but on stories of war, betrayal, faith, power, duty, madness, and survival in worlds shaped by endless conflict. Readers gain deeper insights into familiar factions, legendary heroes, sinister adversaries, and the major events that shake entire empires, systems, or ages.

The books are particularly suitable for fans who want to delve deeper into the backgrounds of their favorite factions. Whether Space Marines, Chaos, Aeldari, Astra Militarum, Orks, Necrons, Primarchs, or ordinary soldiers in the shadow of mighty wars: Black Library novels show the Warhammer universes from the perspective of the characters who fight, rule, suffer, or perish within them.

Note:
This article is the English softcover edition of the novel.

Background:
The Starshards are Aeldari Corsairs, raiders and plunderers of the void, whose ships hunt between the stars for loot, glory, and opportune moments. Baron Myrin Sturmdämmer is among their greatest leaders, asserting his position in a society where power, prestige, and freedom are never secure. As his long-simmering conflict with Uzgul the Flashy's Fiesgrind Buccaneers unexpectedly escalates, Myrin must embark on a dangerous path.

To stand against the Ork privateer, he allies with Taenar Leotharan, an outcast admiral from his former home, the craftworld Ilmaren. For Taenar, the unrestrained life of the Corsairs is a trial of temptation, danger, and bitter realization. Freedom among the Starshards is not a gift, but a blade that cuts both ways.

Myrin, meanwhile, faces his own challenges. The path to his goal leads through a complex web of obligations, old claims, and the favor of those above him in the Corsair organization. When a Starshard's authority depends on the success of a final journey and the whims of the feared Princess Tishria, Uzgul's buccaneers might only be the loudest enemy, not the deadliest.
